As Co-President of Group Germain Hotels, Christiane Germain oversees operations and marketing for all of the Group’s properties. Dynamic, tenacious, and inventive, her entrepreneurial qualities have been honoured on several occasions by Canada’s business and tourism communities. Committed to the economic vitality of the country, Christiane attaches great importance to the development of Canadian talent, which she supports particularly through the local procurement policy implemented by the Group. In addition to presiding over a growing business, Christiane Germain is chair of the board of directors of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and is involved in supporting numerous charities.
Trained at the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ), Jean-Yves is co-president of Group Germain Hotels. Gifted with a keen business sense, he is in charge of development, orchestrates financing and supervises the construction of Le Germain Hotels and Alt Hotels.
Jean-Yves began his career in the restaurant industry. It was here where he first tried his hand at raising capital. Since then, he has mastered the structuration of investment funds and financial strategies for the company’s hotel developments. Group Germain Hotels, whose finances he runs with an iron fist, is ranked among the 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada thanks to its economic and financial health.
Alongside his career as an hotelier, Jean-Yves is president of Casot Limited, a company based in Québec City that owns and operates a number of commercial and residential properties. He also sits on a number of boards of directors and is dedicated to several charities in the community.
For more than 25 years, Claude has supported senior teams in their change management and leadership development goals. Claude has a passion for organizational dynamics, in particular those issues found where performance, leadership, culture and strategy intersect.
Since September 2012 he has been a partner of the SAGE Consulting Group, an organizational development consulting group active in the European and North American markets. From 2000 to 2012 he was a partner in the SECOR Group, the Canadian leader in strategy consulting. From 2000 to 2005, he oversaw the strategic leadership activities at SECOR Europe’s Paris office. His experience with major international groups has allowed Claude to broaden his perspective of leadership issues, thanks to a deeper understanding of cultural and strategic aspects.
In 1992, he co-founded the firm SAGE, in which he was a partner until 2001. From 1980 to 1992, he was successively cultural facilitator and student affairs coordinator of CÉGEP Montmorency, and lecturer at the Faculty of Education of Sherbrooke University. He was director and chairman of the organization and human resources committee of Groupe Le Massif. He holds a graduate’s degree and a Master’s degree in Education from Sherbrooke University. He holds a certification in “Immunity to Change” from Harvard and in Organizational Culture Inventory from Human Synergistics.
Claude Choquette is President of HDG Inc.—a Daniel Gauthier holding company—and of GDG Placements Privés, the first private investment funds company in the Québec City region. A Fellow of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec, he was the recipient of Emeritus honours from the Comité des comptables agréés de Québec, in 1996; and of the Hermès Award, in 2005, the most prestigious distinction awarded by Université Laval’s Faculty of Business Administration.
He is actively involved as a board member of various firms and organizations, including the SSQ Financial Group, Quebec Railway Corporation, Group Germain Inc., Pratte Morrissette Inc., Fondation de l’Université Laval, Fondation des hôpitaux Enfant-Jésus – Saint-Sacrement, and Fondation Imaginer Un Monde Meilleur. He also chairs on the board of Financial Innovation, for Université Laval.
Owner of Pertinence, a consultancy dedicated to strategic marketing communications and business intelligence on consumer trends.
Anne is recognized as Quebec’s leading expert on consumer trends. She has studied consumer behaviour for 25 years, and has tracked and decoded the emerging signals that shape our world. She is regularly invited to share her viewpoint with corporations, organizations and the media. In turn, she assists them in more readily identifying those signs that are the true precursors of change. Her professional history likewise includes numerous collaborations with broadcast media, particularly Radio-Canada and Télé-Québec.
Concurrently with her work as a professional trend watcher, Anne has worked for 20 years in Montreal advertising agencies, as co-owner, president (Natcom) and vice-president for strategic planning (Allard Johnson, now kbs+). She has directed major advertising campaigns and contributed toward building and managing what has become one of Canada’s leading marketing communications agencies. She currently provides consulting services at Pertinence.
Anne is also a former president of the Quebec MBA Association and former president of Mensa Montreal. She has sat on many boards, including Quebecor Printing and the Société d’investissement Desjardins (on both of which she represented the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec), the National Theatre School of Canada and Sainte-Justine Hospital. Her current boards include Group Germain Hotels (Alt and Le Germain hotels across Canada), Jovia (NFP offering therapeutic clown programs) and MU (NFP in support of public art).
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design (Université Laval), a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Université de Sherbrooke), and is a Certified Director (C.Dir., The Directors College, McMaster University/ ASC, Collège des administrateurs de sociétés, Université Laval).
A graduate in law from Université Laval and member of the Quebec Bar since 1980, François Amyot is Vice-President of Investments and Chief Legal Officer at HDG since September 2018. As part of his duties, he participates in investment process and supervises the legal affairs of all the subsidiaries and investments of HDG. In this role, he accompanies the business partners of HDG in their development and growth. He is also part of the board of Groupe Germain Inc.
A recognized professional, François Amyot has been awarded numerous prizes and distinctions, including the recent distinctions of 2018 Legal Counsellor of the Year from M&A Club Canada, Star Lawyer 2018 Acritas UK and named Lawyer of the Year in corporate Law for Quebec City in the 2019 edition of Best Lawyers in Canada.
Before joining HDG, he was an associate for over 29 years at the law firm McCarthy Tétrault where he practised business law, mainly in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, business finance and securities.
François is chairman of the board of the Carrefour international de théâtre as well as chairman of the board of Excellence Sportive Québec-Lévis.
