As Co-President of Group Germain Hotels, Christiane Germain oversees operations and marketing for all of the Group’s properties. Dynamic, tenacious, and inventive, her entrepreneurial qualities have been honoured on several occasions by Canada’s business and tourism communities. After over 30 years in the industry, Christiane is especially proud to be able to offer career opportunities to people who share the values of the Group Germain Hotels family.
Committed to the economic vitality of the country, Christiane attaches great importance to the development of Canadian talent, which she supports particularly through the local procurement policy implemented by the Group. In addition to presiding over a growing business, Christiane Germain is chair of the board of directors of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and is involved in supporting numerous charities.
Trained at the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ), Jean-Yves is co-president of Group Germain Hotels. Gifted with a keen business sense, he is in charge of development, orchestrates financing and supervises the construction of Le Germain Hotels and Alt Hotels.
Jean-Yves began his career in the restaurant industry. It was here where he first tried his hand at raising capital. Since then, he has mastered the structuration of investment funds and financial strategies for the company’s hotel developments. Group Germain Hotels, whose finances he runs with an iron fist, is ranked among the 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada thanks to its economic and financial health.
Alongside his career as an hotelier, Jean-Yves is president of Casot Limited, a company based in Québec City that owns and operates a number of commercial and residential properties. He also sits on a number of boards of directors and is dedicated to several charities in the community.
With experience in business development in the retail trade, and an MBA from Queen’s University, Hugo officially joined Group Germain’s operations in January 2006.
Involved from the outset in the creation of the Alt concept, Hugo actively participated in the design, construction, start-up and operations of the first Alt property, holding the position of General Manager of ALT Hotel Quartier DIX30 in its first year of operation. He is dedicated to making this banner a leader in its niche in Canada.
In 2009, Hugo moved to Québec City and took on the responsibility of sourcing, planning and overseeing new hotel development opportunities for the brand across the country. Hugo is also the President of the Séminaire Saint-François Foundation and member of the Chaudière-Appalaches division of Junior Achievement’s Board of Directors
A graduate of Queen’s University in Mechanical Engineering with a Master’s Degree from the McGill-HEC EMBA program, Marie Pier has been an active member of the family business since 2006. She began her career in Calgary during construction of the Le Germain Hotel real estate complex, managing office space rentals and acting as a senior consultant to the residence sales team. Her natural flair for customer service proved to be a real asset. In the years that followed, she went on to manage the team of architects, designers, and engineers responsible for the construction and renovation of the company’s hotels and then took the helm of Alt Hotel Montreal in 2016 as General Manager.
Today as Director of Operations, she manages all properties located in the greater Montréal region in addition to overseeing the architecture and design of hotels under construction. Always in search of adventure, Marie Pier has traveled around the world and learned to speak five languages. She is also the proud mother of a little girl and a little boy.
Guided by his 35 years of international experience and in-depth knowledge of the hotel industry, Didier manages the daily operations of Le Germain Hotels and Alt Hotels. The members of his team often speak to his pragmatism and joie de vivre. According to him, a company’s values and its human capital are its main strengths.
Born in the south of France, Didier came to discover the world of hospitality in prestigious establishments in Paris and Monte Carlo. Over the course of his career, he spent more than twenty years working for the Accor Group. He settled in Canada in 1987 and was the Vice-President of Operations for subsidiary Accor Canada, from 1997 to 2006.
In 2007, Groupe Danone entrusted him with the general management of Evian Royal Resort but nostalgia for his adopted country made him decide to return to Canada to manage Fairmont hotels in Ontario and Quebec with the Westmont Group.
Didier has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a graduate of the Executive Program at Cornell University. He has been involved with a number of boards and organizations, including as an adviser to the international trade ministry of France, and as a member of the Board of Directors for Ryerson University and the Théâtre français in Toronto. Passionate about golf and nature, Didier loves to cook and like many hoteliers, appreciates fine wine!
Over the past 15 years, Annie Landry has very actively contributed to the growth of Group Germain Hotels and Casot ltée. Leading a team of more than 20 people, Annie is in charge of monitoring budgets, construction costs and monthly payments. She is also responsible for all legal aspects and the temporary and permanent financing of construction projects. Her commitment in building sound financial investments sustains the company’s steady growth.
A graduate of Laval University and a member of the Ordre des CPA du Québec, Annie started her career in the financial advisory service of Samson, Bélair/Deloitte & Touche, in Quebec City. She then worked for Exfo Ingénierie Electro-Optique and for Siemens – Technologies du bâtiment inc.. As a financial controller, she developed strong change management skills and became proficient in system and process implementation on an international scale.
Annie is the mother of two sporty teenage girls, and is an active member of the community during her free time.
A tourism graduate, Monique is passionate about the trends and new technologies that shape the travel industry. Her 30 years of experience in the hotel industry, with 15 years specializing in sales and marketing, distribution, as well as in e-commerce, make her a born leader. In 2017 she joins the team at Group Germain Hotels as Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, an ideal opportunity to put her expertise to good use at a rapidly growing company. Her keen interest in design and gastronomy are a natural fit for the brands that she will be highlighting in her role. At the helm of a busy and fulfilling life, Monique particularly enjoys spending time with her son and unplug in the crisp air of the countryside.
